During excavations in 1932, under the direction of historian M.I. Rostovtsev, a synagogue was discovered in Syria with well-preserved biblical frescoes. This synagogue was located in the ancient city of Dura Europos on the Euphrates and was well preserved due to the conservation of the premises in ancient times. Wanting to strengthen the defensive walls of the city, Roman soldiers covered the synagogue with sand and broken brick.

For 8 centuries now, at the crossroads of the Nerl and Klyazma rivers, there is a masterpiece of architecture - the Church of the Intercession on the Nerl. The white church surrounded by green meadows is a real poem in stone. The church was built in memory Prince Andrew Bogolyubsky's son, Izyaslav, who died in a military campaign.

This picture by Claude Monet is one of a series of his later paintings called "Water Lilies". Living in Giverny, the artist himself creates a pond, where he raises amazing water lilies. Monet abandoned the traditional work in the open air, claiming that real beauty from a gaze escapes him. The master began to paint a landscape with lilies from memory in his workshop. This method of work filled the paintings with warmth, and reality harmoniously intertwined with abstraction.

The prior of the New Jerusalem residence, hieromonk Roman, has been the confessor of the St. Nicholas sisterhood of Mercy for many years. Sisters of Mercy have the service of caring for the elderly. Every year on May 9, sisterhood joins the congratulations of war veterans in Victory Park. Paying homage to the hard work that befell to the people who went through the war, the Sisters of Mercy thanked their heroes and presented them with carnations.

May is the month of the beginning of a series of voluntary Saturday works, which lasted until the first cold autumn days. This year, quarantine prevented parishioners from gathering together to continue landscaping the New Jerusalem residence. We hope that the epidemic will end soon and that we will again be able to gather the whole church family for these works.
